Ice Industries Highlights U.S. Government SDVOSB Designation
SYLVANIA, Ohio - March 29, 2010 - Manufacturers actively seeking governmental or military contract set-asides gained a boost with Ice Industries' Mississippi location being designated a Historically Underutilized Business Zone or “HUB Zone” supplier by the Small Business Administration under its HUB Zone Program.
Ice Industries is a leading metal stamping, welding, and assembly company with five locations in the USA and Mexico. Its Grenada Stamping and Assembly facility in Grenada, Mississippi is officially designated as being in a Historically Underutilized Business Zone or “HUB Zone” by the Small Business Administration under its HUB Zone Program.
HUB Zones are economically distressed areas as determined by the Small Business Administration using income data from census inputs and unemployment information. Utilizing HUB Zone suppliers increases employment opportunities in these areas, stimulates investment and creates a “multiplier effect” within these economically challenged areas. Under this program, three percent of all total federal prime contract awards require HUB Zone utilization. More information regarding HUB Zone Programs is available at http://www.sba.gov/hubzone/.
“Coupled with Ice’s designation as a service disabled veteran owned business (SDVOB), this designation provides important minority content for our customers who are fulfilling large military, government or OE contracts” said Paul Bishop, Ice’s President.
Manufacturers seeking Hub Zone suppliers should consider Ice’s Grenada Stamping and Assembly facility as their highly capable metal forming, welding and assembly supplier.
